Notice of Fuel Oil/Diesel Bids


IT IS THE INTENTION of the Town Board of the Town of Danube to contract for No. 2 Fuel Oil and over the road Diesel Fuel from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 by accepting sealed bids on said products. The Diesel Fuel must be winterized during the winter months and the bid must tell how the fuel will be cut and list additional cost over regular fuel costs for those winter months.


THE FUEL oil must be delivered within two (2) hour notice and the vendor must render twenty‑four (24) hour delivery service, seven days a week from January 1, 2016 to April 1, 2016. 


THE STORAGE tanks are as follows:  One 2,000 gallon diesel fuel tank, two 275 gallon heating oil tanks at the Town Garage/Office for heating and hot water purposes.  Diesel Fuel Consumption Averages 10,000 gallons per year.  Heating Oil Consumption Averages 5,300 gallons per year.


THE TOWN is a tax-exempt municipal corporation and does not expect or intend to pay tax on the diesel fuel at the point of delivery, regardless of a potential subsequent credit.  All bids should not include taxes.


THE TOWN BOARD asks that a firm bid and a fluctuating bid be submitted.  Please state the fluctuating bid amount over the rack price.


Sealed bids will be accepted up until 7:O0 pm at which time bids will be opened and read on Wednesday, December 10, 2015 at Danube Regular Town Board meeting at the Town Garage, 438 Creek Road, Little Falls, NY 13365.  All bids must be sealed and clearly marked “Fuel Oil/Diesel Bids.”  Bids may be hand delivered at 438 Creek Road, or mailed to:  ML Herringshaw, Town Clerk, Town of Danube, PO Box 100, Little Falls, NY 13365.


THE TOWN reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.

There will be a Special Danube Town Board Meeting, Monday, April 9th at 7 PM at the town building, 438 Creek Road.  The main topic for discussion will be 1. the status of the fire protection contract talks and 2. the status of negotiations with the highway employees' union.  The public meeting may end with an executive session so that the board can have an in-depth discussion with their negotiating team.
Highway Superintendent Salary Hearing on April 11th at 6:30 PM

Hearing on Highway Superintendent Salary Change -  The hearing on the law to change the salary of the Superintendent of Highways will begin at 6:30 PM. 


 Proposed Local Law Number One of 2012

The budgeted annual salary for the Town of Danube elected office of
Superintendent of Highways has been previously approved in the amount of
$20,000.00 for the calendar year 2012. Local inquiry has been made about
the increase of this salary to $28,880.00 with such increase, if any, to
be hereafter determined upon a referendum held pursuant to Section 24 of
the Municipal Home Rule Law .

The 2012 calendar year salary for the Town of Danube Superintendent of
Highways shall be increased from $20,000.00 to $28,800.00 effective, and
payable, from January 1.

This local law shall take effect upon its approval by referendum and its
subsequent filing thereof with the Secretary of State.
